Catch A New Wave:
Gravitational Wave Astronomy as a Probe of the Universe
Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum
July 10 - August 10, 2009
Gravitational waves from outer space are passing through Chicago! This is your chance to catch them - at an exhibit brought to you by scientists from LIGO, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory and presented at the Alder Planetarium. Visit Adler to experience and learn about gravitational waves, one of Einstein's most intriguing predictions stemming from his gravity theory of general relativity.
Catch A New Wave will give you a hands-on experience with the basic physical nature of gravitational waves and its effect on space-time, as well as with the technology making LIGO reality.
