CIERA Contributes to World Science Festival

This year’s World Science Festival in New York City featured an expert panel discussing black holes, including CIERA director Vicky Kalogera. Also featured was a video illustrating the collision of two neutron stars (GW170817), created by CIERA’s Aaron Geller.

The World Science Festival is an educational non-profit which was founded 11 years ago by physicist Brian Greene. Its mission is to cultivate a general public informed by science, inspired by its wonder, convinced of its value, and prepared to engage with its implications for the future. The panel was moderated by Brian Greene, and in addition to Professor Kalogera it featured Shep Doeleman, Andrea Ghez, and Cumrun Vafa.
