Congratulations to CIERA’s Raffaella Margutti, recipient of a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) award from the National Science Foundation. Prof. Margutti studies the biggest explosions and disruptions in the universe, including supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, compact stellar mergers and tidal disruption events.
Margutti will use the award for research, education, and public outreach initiatives, including collaborations with visually impaired scientists and professional musicians.
