CIERA is leading as an international center for astrophysics research, but to continue to propel forward, substantial private funding is needed. From reserved seating at public events to an exclusive celebration of the year’s most exciting findings, discover all the benefits of joining the CIERA Circle!

In December 2024, Northwestern University became a founding member of the International Consortium of the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) Organization. Once completed, the GMT will be one of the most powerful ground-based telescopes in the world, propelling new discoveries for decades to come.
Northwestern’s membership in the GMT has launched CIERA into a new era of rapid growth in cutting-edge, collaborative science. Donor generosity will help CIERA keep pace by providing support for world-class faculty, talented graduate and postdoctoral students, and high-performance computers and other equipment. Your philanthropy will help to solidify Northwestern’s leadership in astronomy, engineering, data science, and more.
