Andrew Geraci, Associate Professor at Northwestern University and a member of the core faculty of CIERA, was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Francis M. Pipkin Award, an award which is presented bi-annually to an early-career scientist in the interdisciplinary area of precision measurement and fundamental constants and encourages the wide dissemination of the research results. Established in 1997 by the Topical Group on Precision Measurement and Fundamental Constants of the APS in memory of Francis M. Pipkin, its objective is “to recognize exceptional research accomplishments by an early-career scientist in the interdisciplinary area of precision measurement and fundamental constants and encourages the wide dissemination of the research results”.
Citation:
“For developing new precision measurement techniques to search for weakly coupled interactions of mesoscopic range and demonstrating the precision sensing capability of optically levitated nanoparticles.”
