William is a Heising-Simons Foundation 51 Pegasi b Fellow working on direct observations of exoplanets, in order to understand how planetary systems form and evolve. They use large optical/infrared telescopes on the ground and in space to resolve planetary systems, peer into the atmospheres of gas giants, and track the motions of unique planetary orbits to place our own solar system in a broader context.
