Alex recently earned her PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), where she was advised by J. Xavier Prochaska and studied the local environments of Fast Radio Bursts. She brings extensive experience in both professional and teaching development, having served as a Graduate Student Instructor at UCSC and a Part-Time Instructor at West Valley College. In addition, Alex held several leadership roles within the astronomy graduate student community.
Alex contributes to a wide range of CIERA initiatives, including research administration and management, as well as research-driven education and outreach efforts. She engages with industry partners and members of the Board of Visitors, working closely with CIERA Director Vicky Kalogera and the broader CIERA team.
