Heather is the Events & Communications Coordinator at CIERA, where she manages events, communications, outreach, and program initiatives that strengthen and connect the Center’s research community.
She joined CIERA after working at Northwestern’s Segal Design Institute, where she coordinated undergraduate design programs, events, and community partnerships. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Learning and Organizational Change at Northwestern, with a focus on organizational design. Before Northwestern, Heather spent eight years developing and leading K-12 art programs in public, private, and international schools. Across her work, she brings a people-centered and creative approach to building programs, experiences, and systems that help communities connect and thrive.
Heather promotes CIERA and our researchers to the outside world and organizes large, complex, or unusual events. In this role, Heather:
- Produces CIERA’s marketing materials
- Leads logistics for large conferences, outreach events, and public lectures
- Writes news stories & newsletters
- Liaises with media professionals and handles CIERA’s social media accounts
- Helps develop the center’s website; designs and manages conference and project websites
