Dr. Monty was a CIERA Postdoc from 2025 to 2026.

Following her time at CIERA, Dr. Monty became an Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University

Dr. Monty is an astronomer working in the fields of Galactice Archaeology, Near-Field Cosmology and Astrononomical Instrumentation. She is jointly appointment for the next year as both a CIERA Fellow and Assistant Professor at New Mexico State University, moving to NMSU full time in August, 2026. Prior to this, she was a Research Associate in the Stellar Streams group led by Profs. Vasily Belokurov and Wyn Evans at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge. She completed her PhD in Astrophysics at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia in 2022 under the co-supervision of Prof. Francois Rigaut and Em. Prof. Ken Freeman. Her work focuses on using star clusters as chemical, dynamical and temporal tracers of the formation history of the Local Group through combining observations, theory, and simulations and through the development of next-generation instrumentation.
