Dr. Shanika Galaudage is the CIERA–Adler Postdoctoral Fellow, a joint role involving research and outreach at CIERA and the Adler Planetarium. Her research focuses on gravitational-wave astrophysics, particularly studying the population properties of compact binaries such as pairs of black holes and neutron stars to investigate how these systems lived their lives. She is a member of the LIGO–Virgo–KAGRA Collaboration and an affiliate researcher at OzGrav (ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery). At the Adler, Shanika primarily works with the Public Observing team to run a student research program using the Doane Observatory.
